Designs Jewelry |
|
Below are pictures of some of my jewelry designs. Each piece is one-of-a-kind. I get my ideas from many different sources. My designs range from casual to fairly fancy, as the mood strikes me. Sometimes it's just a matter of what the beads tell me to do with them.
Many of these pieces
are for sale. Click on a picture to see a larger version. Most pieces
also have closeups of the focal beads.
Thanks for looking!
Amethyst & Pearls |
This
is one of the oldest pieces I'm sharing. None of my beads here, but a gorgeous
gold vermeil Bali bicone with amethysts and lots of freshwater pearls. It
was made as a gift for my best friend. |
Amethyst Spiral |
I
love purples in all shades. This piece is deep amethyst with lots of silver.
The focal bead is clear glass
wrapped in palladium leaf then squiggled with an amethyst abstract design.
Matched with Czech glass and Bali silver. Available for $40 |
| This
necklace has a very Victorian feel to it. It has four strands of amethyst
and aquamarine silverlined beads, some interesting aqua twists, and
one of my feather beads
in aqua and amethyst. Available for $75 |
Aqua & Amethyst Feather |
Three
strands of rich topaz seed beads are caught by three shades of handmade
rounds for this piece, all drawn into a rich red-brown "fluttered flower" bead, with a subtle
gold dichroic glow. Available for $50 |
Autumn Flower |
Autumn Gold |
Fall
is my favorite season. I love the rich earthy colors of the leaves as
they turn. I used an amber and olive feather bead along with some interestingly
shaped Czech glass beads, and gold vermeil Bali-style spacers. Available for $50 |
Black Flame |
The
play of iridescent finishes over black glass has always fascinated me.
I tried to emulate that at the torch, and got this wonderful black flutter bead. It's matched with
some interesting shapes and a touch of Bali silver. Available for $40 |
| The
swirls of color in this bead remind me of a watercolor that's run a little.
It's an etched teardrop with a
subtle shimmer of goldstone. There are 3 shades of 3-sided blue accent
beads and interesting copper coil spacers. Available for $30 |
Blue Watercolor Teardrop |
I've
always been drawn to the color and sparkle of citrines. Here I've used
facetted citrines set in silver, and matched them with my own citrine flutter, plus etched silverlined
beads, freshwater pearls and Indian silver spacers. This was a gift to
my friend Jo. |
Indian Honey |
Citrine Choker |
More
fun with citrines, this time as flashy facetted rondels, spaced with golden
freshwater pearls (a perfect combination!) all setting off a lovely mouthblown
Venetian bead. |
Garnet Dots |
This
necklace started with a gift of the red fossil beads and carved vegetable
ivory flowers. The central bead
is my first successful experiment with silver leaf and rubino glass. Deep
inside each dot is the glitter of silver. I added mother-of-pearl and hematite
to complete it. |
| This
is a pretty piece with one of my bubble beads. I added lots of
Bali silver, firepolished Czech bicones in cobalt blue, and gorgeous freshwater
button pearls in sky blue. Available for $80 |
Blue Bubbles |
This
very special heart bead
has become my trademark. It is part of my "Desert Sands" series, made
to symbolize my heart belonging in the deserts of Arizona. There's even
a grain of sand inside. l matched it with silver filigee beads, carnelians,
and moss agates. |
Desert Heart |
Desert Twist |
Another bead in
my Desert Sands series, this was an accident that I couldn't quite put
aside. lnstead I matched it with jasper and red tiger eye, and some lovely
hand-turned wood and brass bicones. Available for $50 |
Emerald Glitz |
This is an example
of spontaneous collaboration. My friend Joan Eckard of MothWoman made the ruffles without seeing
my flutter. Matched with
freshwater pearls. Talk about luck! Available for $60 |
| The gold leaf series
is one of my best sellers. My personal favorite is the goth style, with
a base of black and squiggles in garnet red. Here I've used a heart and tube set with two accent beads,
strung with black hexes and garnet teardrops. |
Goth Heart |
Orange is one of
my favorite colors, but I cannot wear it. So sad! l still work with it
whenever possible. MothWoman made these ruffles
and I made it's big sister flutter. Mixed
with some fun Czech glass shapes. Available for $50 |
Citrus Splash |
Get the Point? |
I found these pointy
little frit beads in a beadshop in Philadelphia. They were too cool to resist. The silverlined crystal seed beads catch the light very well. |
Luscious Lapis |
Lapis is one of
my favorite stones. I matched these lovely almond shapes with one of my
floral flutters, hematites,
and Turkish silver beads. |
| I made this necklace
to match a purple floral sundress. It's an etched lavender flutter that I matched
with freshwater pearls, carved and round amethysts, and some pretty Bali
silver granulated accent beads. |
Lavender Fancy |
Another one of my
bubble beads, in rose and malachite,
with matching etched rose tube and malachite rounded nuggets with beautiful
grain. Available for $50 |
Rosewood Bubble |
Mistlight |
This is a pretty
little bead made from some
leftover twisties over white agate glass. It has a misty shimmer to it.
I matched with with some Czech glass shapes and some interesting Bali silver
bicones. Available for $40 |
Pink Champagne on Ice |
As anyone who follows
my auctions knows, I am NOT a pink person. But this is a really splendid bead! It's clear crystal
with pink dichro inside, edged in gold ruby, and matched with some gorgeous
crystals, Bali silver, and vintage Japanese pink tubes with silver splashes. Available for $80 |
| This is a wonderful
borosilicate glass flutter.
It has lots of colorful swirls that remind me of the Sedona area of Arizona.
Very well matched with interesting unakite shapes and Bali silver accent
beads. Available for $80 |
Sedona |
I think I mentioned
my love for lapis? I also love ornate silver melon beads, like this one from Nepal. It looks heavy but it's actually hollow! |
Lapis Caravan |
Starlight Trails |
Here's an elegant
piece with one of my Starlight
beads. You can see shimmers of silver inside the clear trails. It's matched
here with sodalites and Bali silver spacers. Available for $60 |
Tourmalina |
This is from my
gemstone series of flutters, my
take on tourmaline or fluorite. I've matched it with sparkly teal crackle
glass beads, palest amethyst gemstone rounds, silvery freshwater pearls,
and plenty of Bali silver. Avialable for $75 |
| This is sure to
delight anyone who likes blue! The sleek ivory bicone is set with lovely blue millefiori flowers. It's matched with lapis diamonds, blue howlite twists, mother of pearl carved leaves, and aqua cloisonne rounds. Available for $50 |
Turquoise Flower |
This is a treat
I made for my sweetie as a keychain. He loves turquoise and enjoys showing
this off dangling out of his pocket. The tab bead is from my Turquesa series, matched
with some native Arizona nuggets, some lookalike round glass spacers, and
Turkish silver. |
Turquoise Key Tab |
Water Wings |
This is one of my
experiments with flutters in ivory glass.
It has a pretty, mottled effect with teal and turqouise. I matched it with
some Chinese turquoise rounds, dressed up in Bali silver caps, malachite
ovals, carved bone butterflies, and watery glass seed beads. |
Turquoise Tube |
And finally (for now) another version of my Turquesa series, a nicely marked tube bead. It's matched with sterling silver almond spacers and Arizona turquoise nuggets. |
